Flowers in the dust

Democratic Republic of the Congo 2022
The team returned to the Congo, this time with a mission to reach Kabinda—a region scarred by years of conflict and hardship. The journey was grueling: ten days of driving from the Congo border on broken roads, through dust, and heat.. But the team pressed on, carrying what mattered most—the Word of God.
Along the way, something remarkable began to happen. Villagers started waiting expectantly as the convoy approached. When asked how they knew, they explained that a local radio station was broadcasting the news: “People are on the road—bringing Bibles!”
Then, between the dry haze of the road and the weariness of travel, the team saw something extraordinary: a man standing in the middle of the road, holding a bouquet of the most beautiful wild flowers
He approached the team and said,
“I heard on the radio that there was a woman with your group. I came to say thank you—for bringing Bibles to my people.”
In a land marked by war and loss, God was planting seeds of hope—and even causing flowers to bloom.
This simple act, a bouquet in the dust, was a powerful reminder:
God sees. God prepares hearts. And God honors even the smallest sacrifices made for His Kingdom.
